A series of articles on Maths, Science and Technology. Some of these pieces have been published in the Times Educational Supplement.
The aim here is to provide stimulating examples, both from practical experience and wild speculation, to support the dry theory.
How these Articles Came to Be
I studied Maths at Durham and use some of that knowledge in my engine design work. I suppose I've always felt a bit evangelical about maths after the thousands of blank looks and curl-lipped declarations of 'I never got maths at school.'
Credit here to Nick Evans, my brother-in-law, who gave me a contact in the Times Educational Supplement. Many of these pieces appeared in that paper.
